  Responsibilities
 
In supporting all its businesses in maintaining sound employer-employee relationships, this role will be primarily responsible for implementing, policies and procedures of the industrial relations framework for Sunway Group. This position will be based at the Group Human Resource Department, reporting to the General Manager.

  • Provide policies and procedures of a sound industrial relations (IR) framework for the Group.
  • Provide continuous communication, education and training to internal staff and managers on the IR framework.
  • Ensure compliance of the Group’s IR framework by the respective business units across the Group.
  • Act as an advisor to subsidiary human resource representatives in fact finding, investigating and resolving employer-employee disputes.
  • Involve and represent the company in union negotiations by providing information on current Collective Agreement (CA), prevailing union and management practices, wage and salary surveys and employee benefits programs, and proposed changes in the CA agreement.
  • Act as an advisor / resource to the Group on labour related issues and represent the Group on IR/ Labour issues with Unions, Labour Office, IR Office, Industrial Courts and Home Ministry.
  • Perform line management responsibilities to current team of direct reports such as lead, motivate, set and drive performance of the team.
  • Ensure compliance and proper documentation of expatriates/ foreign workers recruitment and work permits.
 
  Requirements
 
  • Degree in Industrial Relations / Public Administration / Law/ Human Resources or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in industrial relations. Direct experience from working in a diverse conglomerate would be an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Trade Union Act, the Employment Act, the Industrial Relation Act and the OSHA Act is essential.
  • Result driven, strong communication (negotiation and influencing), interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Occasional travel to various business units across Malaysia would be required.
