  Responsibilities
 
The Assistant Manager (Employment and Career Development) under Student Community Services reports to the Manager, Employment and Career Development, and is required to work closely with staff of other units and departments, school course management offices and academics, and other key staff across the Sunway campus and other Monash campuses.
This position is responsible for providing high quality employment and career related services to all students/external stakeholders of the university while developing and enhancing industry and community linkages across Monash University Sunway Campus in order to support positive employment outcomes for its students and graduates.

The Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in marketing Monash University Sunway Campus disciplines to employers in order to expand the employment opportunities available for students and graduates. This also involves subsequent building and sustaining of relationships with new and existing employers to facilitate their involvement at various levels with the university. The incumbent will also undertake a variety of functions which are specified in an annual performance plan, drawn from each of the key areas of responsibility outlined in this position description.
 
  Requirements
 
Essential
  • Tertiary qualification supported by extensive relevant experience
  • Knowledge of contemporary approaches to recruitment and industry engagement
  • Demonstrated marketing, public relations, negotiation and networking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide sound, authoritative advice on employability and employment outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability of working successfully with multiple stakeholders, excellent teamwork
  • Very strong communication skills for delivery to a diverse range of audiences
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and client focussed service delivery
  • Capacity to manage staff effectively

    Desirable
  • Experience in management and delivery of high quality events and major projects
  • Capacity to utilise and contribute to web based approaches to delivering services, and to analyse and develop databases as appropriate
