Responsibilities

TheAVP/ Senior Editor, Digital Media is responsible for the all of bulletin content and production of news, info, headlines, news highlights on new media including website and mobile devices. Also responsible for the overall home page packaging and management. Writing editing and packaging important individual story displays on home page, deciding line up of stories on home page and creating and managing microsites. He/she will also be responsible for scanning agencies for stories and pictures, writing stories from information on TV rundowns and editing agency copy. Also responsible for home page pictures management, making photo galleries and specials as well as changing and managing interactive polls and forums Other key responsibility includes: ??Meeting set target in support of the channel??s KPIs ??Finalising rundowns and obtaining the approval of supervisor when deemed important/crucial or in doubt and ensure : oHighly relevant and appealing visitors oThoroughly filtered as a final checkpoint prior to the broadcast and obtaining the approval of th supervisor when deemed important/crucial or in doubt oFully compliant with the Law, licensing rights, regulartory requirements and take into consideration the sensibilities and sensitivities oPackaged accordingly to the stipulated format and branding guidelines oDelivered in high quality in a timely manner, as scheduled ??Final production i.e planning of resources, approving stories, editing and re-editing scripts and material (graphics and VT), managing production and operational process and ensuring timely broadcast on the web ??Support activities aimed at increasingly visitors, awareness, revenues and establishing strong branding.
Requirements

The AVP/Senior Editor, Digital Media must be a dynamic individual who is always ahead in tracking news updates, innovative, able to work fast & accurately and cognizant of the regulatory needs and viewership sensitivities and expectations at all times. He /She must be able to guide Reporters on duty to produce stories in accordance with the agreed lineups in a timely manner, with strong orientation to achieving high standards. ??Degree/Diploma in related field ??Minimum 8 to 12 years experience in news & current affairs ??Good news sense ??Familiarity with news web portal & news production ??Network of relevant contacts ??Experience in managing a team of a Editors and Reporters who is ready to make the transition to News Editor ??Good knowledge of broadcast & multimedia industry ??Strong thought leadership qualities ??Good social media management skills ??Good understanding of production technology/equipment ??Strong language & writing skills ??Bi-lingual, Malay & English, able to translate fluently & quickly ??Display managerial potential ??Good communication skills ??Mature and cool under pressure ??Proficient with Microsoft Office and Words ??Familiarity with wires services i.e APTN, Reuters, Bloomberg and the relevant machines/equipments
