Responsibilities

The AVP will be in charge of overall VOD acquisition i.e. from total content offering (catalogue), promotions and offers, marketing, as well as work with content suppliers and internal content group businesses to build a 1,000+ title catalogue of films and television programs for Astro VOD and new media platforms.

The responsibilities:-

• Sourcing product content within the organization or from external content supplier, closing licensing agreements.


• Creating offers and promotions (box sets etc) as well as coordinating material delivery with suppliers and platforms, and serving as a single point of contact for the platforms.


• Oversee all data collection processes and prioritize product features and programs.


• Conduct revenue and cost analysis to maximize VOD business profit.


• Plan and provide for adequate supply of content for delivery to the platform.


• Ensuring seamless operations in delivery of VOD services to customers by working closely with Technology and Broadcast divisions, Information Technology (IT) division and Customer Group.


• Work closely with business units in Content Group to obtain the best content at the optimum price.


• Adequate supervision and coaching of staff to ensure staff are always motivated to perform at their highest level and given the opportunity to improve their knowledge and expertise.

• Bachelor's degree of equivalent or better qualification in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, Management, or related fields.


• 8 to 10 years of experience and inclusive of 2-4 years of experience in business development, marketing positions in the defined geographic area, with demonstrable expertise/ experience in the broadcast/ media/ entertainment sector.


• Understand the content and media industries in depth manner.


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaborate with others in a team environment.


• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to initiate, prioritize and complete diverse tasks.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills - at ease communicating with all levels of membership and clients.


• Exhibit qualities required in a service oriented culture: enthusiasm, patience, rapid response, professionalism and leadership.


• Experience in product management or marketing (or equivalent) that includes content acquisition, product development and life cycle management.


• Hands-on experience in successfully negotiating licensing contracts, rights and permissions.


• Comfortable with ambiguity and a rapidly changing workplace.


• Above average problem solving and critical judgment.
